"Every crime hides a story, and every story holds a hidden truth."

William Herbert Wallace, born in 1878, was a British insurance agent living in Liverpool. He married Julia Dennis in 1914. Julia was 17 years older than William, which was kept a secret, and her background was also somewhat obscured, as she claimed her father was a veterinarian when, in fact, he was an alcoholic farmer. The Wallaces lived a quiet life, with William working in insurance and occasionally lecturing in chemistry. They hosted musical evenings at their home in Liverpool, which painted a picture of a comfortable, normal family life. However, Julia's health was reportedly delicate, and she suffered from ongoing health issues. Despite their seemingly calm domestic life, their marriage was not without its complexities, and tensions arose as a result of Julia's health issues and other personal matters.
